It's Christmas
time and the leaves of the Blue
Apple tree maybe bare, but the
tree's fruits are now being enjoyed
by all.
This time of year is busy for
all of us and especially so for
the Blue Apple kitchen "elves"
busy preparing sumptuous feasts
for our clients' Christmas lunches.
Nearly all of our unit Christmas
lunches bar one, have taken place
this week. Ruston and Brian have
managed to see them all; how they
"force" themselves to attend as
many as three lunches in one day
we will never know!
A great big thank you to our catering
teams who make it happen. The
quality of food and service has
been exceptional. We would especially
like to commend Glen Coldwell
and the Blue Apple team at Schering
Plough, Harefield who successfully
took on the challenge of supplying
a four course Christmas dinner
for approx 200 covers in a marquee,
one evening last week! It's the
little things that count to make
our clients' Christmas lunches
that bit special and one of the
highlights that Ruston recounted
from a visit to Blockbuster Video's
HQ last week was sampling Gill
Bartlett's "sublime" homemade
onion marmalade that accompanied
their Christmas meal. |

FAIRTRADE AWARD
AT KUONI
|
A great achievement at Kuoni Travel in Dorking
during the summer that was overlooked
by a "A Byte" needs to be rectified. Therefore,
a big thank you goes to Lyn Freeman Blue
Apple's manager at "Café Alfredo" who
was awarded a certificate during a ceremony
at Dorking Town Hall to recognise her
contribution towards making Dorking the
first Fairtrade town in Surrey. Well done
to Lyn, Mary and Kate. |
FREE! - AN APPLE
A DAY
|
|
To help those
of us trying to negate the excesses
of Christmas and honour their
New Year's resolutions to get
slimmer and eat healthier, Blue
Apple launched the "Apple a Day"
promotion in December to get ahead
of the game. The crunch is that
Blue apple is supplying one box
of free apples per month to each
unit! This is to help raise interest
and kick start the promotion.
This will be a year long campaign
and the apple variety will be
changed each month. People will
have no excuse for not contributing
towards their RDA of five portions
of fruit and veg. So go bite a
Braeburn or crunch on a Cox!

Wishing all our customers, clients and
staff a very merry Christmas and Happy
New Year.
